Since its inception in 2002, Miami Art Week has grown to become an overwhelming city-wide cultural phenomenon with a serious penchant for private soirées. This year is no exception. Sought-after invitations include the Miami premiere of artist Ryan McNamara’s Performa project at the former Playboy Theater; vernissage events at Art Basel and Design Miami; the launch party for Ian Schrager’s new beach front hotel and dance club (the Basement); and opening night for CONCEPT Art Fair. Situated on a mega yacht docked at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami, CONCEPT features the premiere of Ai Weiwei and Bert Benally’s 2014 Pull of the Moon Film, on view in a 50’ digital dome.
