Alexandre Arrechea, a Cuban artist and American art collectors Patricia and Howard Farber talk about the first-ever international Cuban Art Awards sponsored by the Farber Foundation. We recorded this conversation at the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center during opening events for the 12th Havana Biennial art exhibition.
New York-based Arrechea was awarded one of two cash prizes. The Young Artist of the Year (under 35 years old) award went to the Havana-based duo Celia Irina González Álvarez and Yunior Aguiar Perdomo.
