Richard Beckman: Outside the Curve of Reason at the University of South Florida Contemporary Art Museum featured a stunning installation. In his lifetime (1957-2004), the artist built an impressive portfolio. Beckman’s writing, drawings, sculpture and performance represent a creative mind that never stopped exploring the tensions between instinct and intellect. Beckman was an Associate Professor of Art at USF College of The Arts from 1991 to 2004. He received national recognition for his exhibitions in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. The exhibition was curated by Sarah Howard, USF Institute for Research in Art and organized by USF Contemporary Art Museum.
