| GREETINGS FROM MIAMI! In case, we haven’t met, I’m Cathy Byrd. Founder and Artistic Director of Fresh Art International. Thanks to you, Fresh Art International, AKA Fresh Art, has been sharing vibrant and vital stories since 2011. Now in my tenth year of podcasting, I’ve been privileged to support the creative economy—commissioning an evolving team of creatives from Miami and around the world to amplify voices at the center and fringe of the art scene. Together, we generate professional resources for teaching and learning that are accessible, fun, and free! As we near 300 episodes, 47% of voices in the archive are BIPOC. In 2020, we released FOUR Research Guides and SIX Topical Playlists, produced our first TWO seasons of the Student Edition, and launched the learning portal FreshArt.Education. A 2017 Miami Knight Arts Challenge Grant awardee, Fresh Art was fortunate to participate in GIVE MIAMI DAY 2020. We were thrilled to receive $3,000+ from 34 individual donors to support Fresh Art’s continued engagement in cultural literacy. Since these donations were eligible for matching funds, we estimate that we’ve reached 60% of our $10,000 goal for 2021.
