This week, we’re sharing a Fresh VUE of London-based Chris Chalik, AKA Krzysztof Chalik. He’s the artist who worked with writers Morgan Coy and Karen Davidson, our last guests on Fresh Talk, to create the graphic novel Shadow Healer.

The three never met in person. Their four-part new age noir comic book was achieved entirely via the Internet.

No wonder Coy and Davidson chose Chalik for their project. When you look at these images, you’ll see how the digital artist imagines the look of dark and mysterious scenes and angst-ridden, abnormal situations. Chalik’s intuitive sense of dramatic staging might make you think of David Lynch or Alfred Hitchcock, and maybe even Gregory Crewdson…
